At First Baptist Church, we're always excited to welcome new visitors! We hope you'll join us for a service, and we want to make your visit as comfortable as possible. Here's what you can expect when you come to either Sunday School or our 10:30 a.m. Worship Service…
Our church is located at 1401 N. Main St. in Hillsville, and parking is located in front of the church. If you have mobility restrictions or young children to carry, feel free to use one of the spots closest to the door. We like to keep them free for visitors and people who need assistance. If you are facing the sanctuary from the parking lot, the double-doors around the right side are handicap accessible with no stairs.
Please don't worry about what you'll wear to church – we truly believe people should come to God as they are. You don't need to dress up to get His approval – that comes through Jesus's sacrifice. Once you walk in the doors, you'll see that the congregation has people from different walks of life wearing different stuff, and we simply ask that you dress modestly. While a few people in the church wear ties, others like to remind them that Jesus never wore a tie.
When it comes to our Worship Service, we preach the biblical Word of God and praise Him through God-honoring songs, both hymns and contemporary Christian music. We take God and His Word very seriously, we value the power of prayer, and we appreciate the humor He has placed in life all around us. We seek to be joyful Christians in all circumstances!
When you walk in, find one of our greeters and introduce yourself (unless they beat you to it!). They're usually stationed near the doors, and they'll show you where everything is. They'll help you find the nursery and Sunday school rooms if you have kids. Our greeters can also point you to the restrooms, sanctuary, and fellowship area. If you have any questions about the service itself, the greeters are able to provide helpful answers, and we have a little gift bag we’d like to give you for joining us to worship!
Be sure to hang around after the service and meet our pastor and other friendly people in the church. We'd love to get to know you so you're a familiar face the next time you come. See you soon!
